I am so honored to have been asked to be the opening performer for Tito Puente Jr. for the 3rd Annual Cincinnati Salsa Festival. The event is Saturday July 31st at Sawyer Point and is free to the public. Those of you who really know me, know how big of an honor this is for me. In 1998 I was in awe as I met his father Tito Puente who remains one of my musical heroes. As if meeting him wasn’t enough, I interviewed him for radio, and shared the stage with him during his concert as we played timables together with his orchestra. I was asked to perform the song that I wrote for Tito Puente after his passing in 2000. The song is on my debut CD “Diary of a Diva” titled “My Inspiration.” I hope to see you there.
